The Inca Town Council has begun the tender for the works contract for the construction of three paddle tennis courts in the Crist Rei sports area. Inca will build 3 municipal paddle tennis courts
The Inquer consistory will allocate 300,000 euros for the construction of a new sports area, attached to the Catalina Corró indoor municipal swimming pools. “In this way, we respond to the lack of facilities for the practice of paddle tennis in the city and improve, therefore, the municipal sports offer. All this to promote a healthy lifestyle and the practice of exercise” says the mayor of Inca, Virgilio Moreno.
The growing popularity of paddle tennis as a racket sport has generated a significant demand for adequate facilities for its practice in Inca. For this reason, the Inca Town Council included the project for the construction of paddle tennis courts in the last participatory budget campaign, and this project received the most votes.
The contract currently under tender is not limited to the construction of the 3 runways. It includes the preparation of the land, the construction of the court structures, the installation of adequate lighting systems, the implementation of safety measures and any other action necessary to complete the project according to current standards and regulations.
“We continue to work to expand and improve the municipal sports areas. We want to provide facilities for the practice of all sports for players of all levels. These paddle tennis courts will serve as an accessible sports space for local residents, satisfying an unmet sporting need in the area,” emphasises the councillor for sports, Antoni Peña.
In this sense, Mayor Moreno explains that “the project will allow the generation of a new meeting and recreational space for people of all ages and will surely boost sports tourism, attracting paddle players from other areas.”
The new paddle courts will be strategically located in the ES 18 sports area (Cristo Rey neighbourhood), as important aspects such as accessibility, space availability and integration with existing sports facilities have been taken into account.
The base budget for the tender is €298,679.93, VAT included. The works are expected to be completed in six months from the date of signing of the staking out of the works. The deadline for submitting bids for the works contract will remain open until Wednesday 5 June 2024.
