Following complaints from private individuals, the island institution will study whether the actions carried out were correct.
The Consell de Mallorca is requesting an external report to evaluate the restoration of the organ of the convent of San Vicenç Ferrer in Manacor, which was inaugurated in 2022. The island’s institution is taking this measure in the face of various complaints that have reached the island’s Heritage Department and which call into question the work that has been done.

The organ in Manacor
Various individuals have presented documentation denouncing irregularities in the restoration work. The most critical voices point to the fact that the characteristic materials of this monument have not been respected and to the destruction of the heritage, among other issues.
It should be noted that Consell de Mallorca’s investment in this body was more than 300,000 euros, which is why the current government team considers it necessary to evaluate the actions that were carried out between 2018 and 2022 in view of the doubts raised by various complaints.
In this way, the Consell de Mallorca is outsourcing a study to clarify whether the restoration has been done correctly and whether the traditional materials have been respected, given that this is an emblematic instrument in the municipality that dates back to before the 18th century.
