A single application for Common Agricultural Policy aid until 15 June

De facto, this change allows farmers and livestock farmers to continue submitting the single application for 2024 until 15 June, throughout Spain.

The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Luis Planas, has announced this change to ensure that all farmers and stockbreeders can submit their application. The pace of submission has been slower than usual due to the modifications made to the Community and Spanish regulations to make certain aspects of the CAP that benefit the agricultural sector more flexible.

Last Friday, the 24th, a Community regulation was published which modifies those referring to good agricultural and environmental conditions, the climate, environmental and animal welfare schemes, the modifications of the CAP strategic plans, the revision of the CAP strategic plans and the exemptions from controls and sanctions which modifies substantial aspects of the reinforced cross-compliance.

The publication of the regulation containing these amendments will not be before 1 June. In addition, a resolution of the Spanish Agricultural Guarantee Fund (FEGA) has been published which includes these changes in advance. The aim is to provide greater legal certainty for farmers and livestock farmers who submit their single application between 1 and 15 June, as well as for the competent authorities of the autonomous communities.

Around 625,000 farmers and stockbreeders will submit their single CAP application in this 2024 campaign in order to receive the corresponding payments from 16 October. The total amount of direct aid for the current campaign amounts to 4,882 million euros.
