The call for grants, published in the Official Gazette of the Balearic Islands (BOIB), is made on a competitive basis to select the best projects. One of the main novelties is the possibility of carrying out promotional activities not only within Mallorca, but also outside the island, which opens up the possibility that producers who are interested in visualising and marketing our products in foreign markets can apply.

The president of the Consell de Mallorca, Llorenç Galmés, emphasised the island’s firm commitment to ‘highlighting the value of local products and, of course, the work being carried out by companies and organisations involved in a painstaking production process that makes it possible to offer consumers food and articles of differentiated quality’.

Third call for this year’s subsidies for Mallorca’s productive sectors

For her part, the councillor for Economic Promotion and Local Development, Pilar Amate, recalled that this is the third call for subsidies that her department has approved this year 2024 with the aim of promoting Mallorca’s products, along with those aimed at town councils and those aimed at companies, agricultural societies and profit-making entities, which, she said, ‘are being very well received by potential beneficiaries’.

Thus, projects consisting of the organisation of events, fairs, talks, tastings, meetings, conferences, exhibitions of Mallorcan products or similar activities will be subsidised. Likewise, up to the totality of the project may be subsidised, although the maximum amount will be 30,000 euros per beneficiary.

Another of the main new features of this new call for proposals is the possibility of granting advances of up to 50% of the amount of the subsidy. The minimum score for the assessment of projects has also been abolished and the deadlines for awarding grants have been speeded up with the aim of awarding them before the end of the summer.
