Experts, opinion leaders and top decision-makers will take part in this meeting that seeks formulas for the harmonious integration of tourism and society.
The Consell de Mallorca, in collaboration with the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism), and through the Mallorca Tourism Foundation (FMT) is organising the 3rd Sustainable Destinations Summit, which will be held on 17 and 18 October 2024 at the Hotel Zoetry Mallorca.
The President of the Government of the Balearic Islands, Marga Prohens, and the President of the Consell de Mallorca, Llorenç Galmés, will open the Summit and the Executive Director of UN Tourism, Zoritsa Urosevic, will give a welcome address.

Mallorca will host the 3rd Sustainable Destinations Summit on 17 and 18 October
The Minister of Tourism, Marcial Rodriguez, will be in charge of opening the second day, which will also feature a presentation by Andy Stalman, CEO and co-founder of Totem Branding, and the participation of Gustavo Alvarado Chavel, Chairman of the UN Tourism Committee on Tourism and Sustainability, as a panellist.
This event will bring together prominent decision-makers, experts and opinion leaders from the tourism and related sectors, with a common goal: to move forward as allies towards a more sustainable future, not only in tourism but in all social and economic spheres. The communicator and doctor in Meteorology, Mario Picazo, will be in charge of moderating the two days as well as being a speaker on one of the panels.
The summit is articulated through different panels and interventions by top representatives of international entities such as the Atlantic Sustainable Tourism Observatory, Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), Tourism Affairs Department Austria, Inter-American Development Bank, Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association (TOTA) Canada, World Health Organization for Europe (WHO), World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance, UNDP Malaysia, among others.
It will also include the participation of tourism bodies, tourism groups, associations and companies such as; Annals of Tourism Research, Alpitour Group, ASPAYM, Brain&Code, Costa Rica Institute of Tourism, Icelandic Tourist Board, FEHM, Futouris, LifeAdaptCalaMillor, Malta Tourism Authority, Nature Metrics, TUI Group, Turespaña, Turismo de Islas Canarias, Travel Tech2 or Visit Berlin, among others.
The summit programme has been designed to address the challenges and opportunities faced by tourism destinations in their transformation towards sustainability. During the two-day event, conferences, panel discussions and interviews will explore key issues, fostering dialogue and cooperation among participants.

The Summit is part of Responsible Tourism Week, which will take place from 15-21 October and brings together two other meetings of international relevance: Sages and Scientists, organised by the non-profit Chopra Foundation (15-16 October) and the Green Film Forum, organised by the Mallorca Film Commission (19-20 October).
