These means of transport are available to travel when requested

The government has made an Ibanat helicopter available to the Generalitat Valenciana to carry out cargo transport tasks and a medicalised 061 helicopter for the transfer of victims, as requested by the CENEM (National Centre for Monitoring and Coordination of Emergencies), which is part of the CECOPI (Integrated Operational Coordination Centre) structure for the emergency. This was announced today by the President of the Govern de Mallorca, Marga Prohens, after the minute’s silence held at the Consolat de Mar in remembrance of and homage to the victims of the storm in Valencia and Castilla la Mancha.

The Government provides the Generalitat Valenciana with two helicopters to help with rescues

At 11 a.m. this morning, the different emergency organisations of the Balearic Islands met to coordinate and compile all the resources available to travel to Valencia if required and, apart from the two helicopters, they are at the disposal of the CENEM:

– 4 teams made up of a rural fire engine, a transport vehicle and 10 firefighters.

– 2 canine and guide teams and an all-terrain vehicle.

– 2 teams made up of a forestry brigade, a fire engine, chainsaws and two drying pumps.

– Health intervention group with the capacity to attend up to 30 critical and 100 minor patients.

  • Group of 5 local police officers and their vehicles.
  • A telecommunications systems technician, a repeater for satellite communications vehicles and to establish wifi perimeters, with its own vehicle and a support person.
  • High-capacity drying pumps.

This aid has been sized so as not to leave the needs of the Balearic Islands uncovered in the event of an episode of rain and storms on the islands in the coming days.
