During his intervention, Cánovas stressed the essential role of public-private collaboration throughout the development of the Balearic Islands Government’s cybersecurity plan. “From the beginning of the project, when we defined the Cybersecurity Operations Center and later during its tendering process, we consistently engaged with the sector so that it could take part in shaping the strategy,” he explained. He also emphasized that the Government has always sought to “build a relationship of collaboration and trust with the private sector from the very start, and always with maximum transparency.”

In this regard, the Director General underlined that public-private collaboration “is not an option but an obligation” if the goal is to “ensure critical services and maintain citizens’ trust that the digital services we provide are secure.” He also recalled the Government’s commitment to administrative simplification and digitalisation to bring public administration closer to citizens and streamline procedures as much as possible.

The congress is organised by MICE Global Solutions, with the institutional support of the Catalan Cybersecurity Agency and the Spanish National Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE).
