As part of the island-wide programme marking the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the Consell Insular de Menorca and the Menorca Foundation for People with Disabilities have unveiled the exhibition #VullParticipar at the Museum of Menorca. The project aims to raise awareness about the importance of recognising the right of people with functional diversity to make decisions and take part fully in society.
The exhibition highlights how people with disabilities have often been excluded from choices that directly impact their lives. For this reason, the initiative calls for their right to self-determination and to be heard, promoting an approach rooted in human rights rather than paternalism.

The display consists of 19 panels containing texts and photographs that illustrate everyday situations in which individuals assert their right to participate. Some of the featured messages include:
- “It’s my money” – the right to manage personal resources.
- “For inclusive education” – schools as shared learning spaces.
- “Dancing to the same rhythm” – dance as a metaphor for inclusion.
- “We want to ‘roll’ everywhere” – a call for accessible public transport.
- “Accessing culture” – the right to enjoy cinema and cultural life.
- “Pursuing our vocation” – the right to choose one’s profession.
Each panel portrays real participants whose voices and images advocate for a future where inclusion is genuine and effective. Using the hashtags #AmbLaMevaVeu, #ElMeuCamí, and #VullParticipar, the Foundation encourages a shift in how society views disability, moving towards a rights-based perspective.
The exhibition will remain open until after Epiphany, following the museum’s regular schedule: Tuesday to Thursday, 10:00–19:00, and Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and public holidays, 10:00–14:00.
