The Christmas nativity scenes organised by the Consell de Mallorca have once again proven to be a major attraction, drawing almost 70,000 visitors throughout the holiday season.
One of the most popular locations was the Palau del Consell, where the traditional nativity scene surrounding the main staircase was on display. Created by the Associació de Betlemistes de Mallorca, this installation welcomed 35,523 visitors, averaging around 1,200 people per day. It was open daily from December 6 to January 6, including public holidays, and children received a small gift during their visit.
At the same time, the exhibition halls of the Aljibe at the Centro Cultural la Misericordia hosted a variety of nativity scenes loaned by individuals and organisations. These displays attracted more than 30,000 visitors and included several depictions of the Nativity, as well as a detailed representation of the Misericordia building itself.

Nearly 70,000 people visit the Consell de Mallorca’s Christmas nativity scenes
These attendance figures confirm the Consell’s nativity scenes as the most visited in Mallorca during the Christmas period. One of this year’s highlights was the return of the nativity scene of La Sang, regarded as the oldest in Europe, which was exhibited again after ten years following the first phase of its restoration.
The Christmas programme also featured a living nativity scene in the gardens of the Misericordia, involving over 100 participants, along with a craft fair, concerts, storytelling sessions, lectures, workshops and children’s theatre. In addition, nearly 1,000 toys were collected for the Monti-Sion Solidaria Foundation, ensuring that no child went without a present this Christmas.
