Renovation works have begun at Gabriel Comas i Ribas Primary School in Esporles, focusing on the replacement of the building’s exterior windows and shutters. The project was visited by the Regional Minister for Education and Universities, Antoni Vera, together with Esporles Mayor Josep Ferrà.

The intervention is part of a cooperation agreement between the Balearic Ministry of Education and the Esporles Town Council, which includes a total investment of €772,150 aimed at upgrading the school’s facilities.

The window and solar protection refurbishment represents an investment of €395,000, fully funded by the regional government. The local council has taken responsibility for tendering and overseeing the works.

In addition, the agreement provides for improvements to the roof of the school’s sports court, with a budget of €377,150, enhancing the usability and safety of this area for students.

During the current legislative term, the Ministry of Education and Universities has signed collaboration agreements with municipalities across the Balearic Islands worth a total of €25 million.

The purpose of these agreements is to speed up and reinforce improvement works in educational centres, promoting closer cooperation with local authorities and ensuring that upgrades can be carried out more efficiently.
