The Government of the Balearic Islands is promoting the international projection of young talent through its participation in the nineteenth edition of Job Day UIB, the largest university employment fair in the region. Through the Illes Balears Europe Foundation (FIBE) and the Europe Direct Illes Balears information centre, the regional administration is bringing students and university graduates closer to the professional opportunities offered by European Union institutions and youth-oriented European programmes.
The event takes place on 10 and 11 March at the Arxiduc Lluís Salvador building on the campus of the University of the Balearic Islands, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Over the course of two days, participants can visit the stands of companies and organisations, submit their CVs, explore the most in-demand professional profiles and establish initial contact with human resources representatives.

The Govern connects students from the Balearic Islands with professional opportunities in the European Union at Job Day UIB
Within this framework, Europe Direct Illes Balears and the Illes Balears Europe Foundation host an information stand in the orientation area of the fair. The stand provides guidance on career pathways within European institutions, paid traineeships in EU bodies, international employment opportunities and recruitment procedures for positions within the European administration.
The space also serves to present the work carried out by the Government of the Balearic Islands in the European sphere through the Illes Balears Europe Foundation and the Balearic Islands Office in Brussels. This initiative aims to bring European policies and programmes closer to university students and to strengthen the link between academic training and professional opportunities at the European level.
One of the most notable activities of this year’s Job Day UIB is the prize draw organised with the collaboration of the Illes Balears Europe Foundation. The main prize consists of a trip for two people to Brussels, including visits to several European institutions and institutional representation spaces such as the European Parliament, the European Committee of the Regions and the Balearic Islands Office in Europe.
The initiative will also extend to Ibiza with additional employment events on 12 and 13 March at the Santa Eulària des Riu Conference Centre as part of the programme “Santa Eulària se n’ocupa”. The session on 12 March will focus on practical workshops aimed at preparing participants for job interviews, reviewing CVs, providing career guidance and offering training on recruitment processes. On 13 March, a series of rapid job interview sessions with Ibiza-based companies will be organised in different time slots, enabling direct interaction between candidates and employers.
Through these initiatives, the Government of the Balearic Islands strengthens its commitment to improving employability and expanding international career opportunities for young people from the islands, while facilitating access to information and experiences that connect university education with the opportunities available within the European Union.
