The Ministry of Youth and Children, in collaboration with RTVE, has launched the creation of the Observatory for Childhood and Adolescence within the public broadcasting corporation. This new body has been unanimously approved and is designed to enhance the quality, oversight, and suitability of audiovisual content aimed at children and young audiences.
The establishment of this observatory reflects a commitment to responsible communication practices that safeguard the rights of minors. Its core functions include the continuous evaluation of programming, covering both content specifically produced for young audiences and material that addresses issues related to childhood and youth.

Youth and Children promote with RTVE the creation of the Observatory for Childhood and Adolescence
The observatory will be composed of representatives from key strategic areas within the corporation, including news, programming, training, legal advisory services, and audience representation. It will also include the participation of staff representatives, ensuring a comprehensive and inclusive approach to governance.
In addition, the initiative will involve organisations from civil society that specialise in youth and childhood matters, strengthening a multidisciplinary perspective. This collaboration aims to ensure that content meets ethical, educational, and protective standards appropriate to different stages of development.
This measure represents a significant step in reinforcing the role of public broadcasting as a tool for education and protection, promoting safer, more inclusive, and age-appropriate content. It establishes a solid institutional framework focused on supporting the well-being and development of younger generations through media.
