The 2026/2027 academic year will set a new record in vocational education in the Balearic Islands, with approximately 14,500 students participating in training placements within companies or equivalent organizations. This milestone reflects the continued expansion and consolidation of a practical training model that integrates real work experience into the educational pathway.

The Training in Companies or Equivalent Organizations system introduces a more flexible and progressive structure, distributing workplace training throughout the academic cycle rather than concentrating it at the end. This approach enables students to develop professional skills in real environments from an early stage, enhancing both their competencies and employability.

To support this level of participation and ensure quality placements, several structural measures have been implemented to strengthen collaboration between educational institutions and businesses. A dedicated service has been established to manage agreements, coordinate partnerships, and oversee administrative processes related to student placements.

In addition, the introduction of specialized liaison professionals has expanded the network of participating companies, particularly in sectors with high demand for training opportunities. These professionals facilitate connections between the education system and industry, helping to identify and secure new placement opportunities.

The system is supported by thousands of active agreements with companies and institutions, ensuring sufficient capacity for the growing number of vocational students. Digital tools and management platforms have also been developed to streamline procedures and improve coordination among stakeholders.

Furthermore, targeted financial support has been introduced to facilitate inter-island mobility, ensuring equal access to placements even in areas with fewer available companies.

Together, these measures reinforce a modern vocational training model aligned with labor market needs, combining theoretical learning with practical experience and providing students with direct exposure to professional environments.
