Once the schooling process for the academic year 2021/22 has been completed, this year a total of 13,662 applications have been submitted for all educational levels (2 less than last year), of which 8,985 correspond to 3-year-olds (158 less than last year).

As for the three-year-olds, which is the bulk of the students involved in the process, 8,837 (98.3%) got right some of the options they chose as their first or second choice, one point higher than last year, and 8,400 (93.5%) got right some of the options they chose as their first choice (last year 92.2).

Of the total number of places requested, 11,778 (86.2%) obtained a place in their first or second choice centre, an increase of 3.5 points over last year, and 10,907 (76.5%) obtained a place in their first choice centre, an increase of 3.3 points over last year. The latter is the highest percentage in recent years.

By islands, the percentage of 3-year students who got the place they applied for in their first choice is:

Last year, on the occasion of the declaration of the state of alarm, the school processes were modified, recommending that the procedures be carried out electronically. This recommendation has been maintained in the 2021 process.

Once the process is completed, it has been found that around 91% of applications have been made through telematics and, in the case of fourth-year students (three years), 91.94%.

Despite the novelty of the system, it should be noted the low number of excluded applications, only 5, representing 0.06% of the total.

In the EI-EP-ESO admission process, there have been 111 applications that have provided certificates and medical reports to obtain the score for this criterion, of which the joint Education – Health committee, once the documentation has been reviewed, decided that it was appropriate to award the score to 60 to meet the conditions indicated in the regulations.
