The organisers have modified the route of the Serra de Tramuntana Trophy, with start and finish in Lloseta, as a result of the red alert activated by the Government due to the drop in temperatures in the municipalities of the Serra and snow levels above 600 metres, and the ban on holding outdoor sporting events above this altitude. The route has been reduced to 123.2 kilometres. As a result of the changes made, the start time for the day’s run, in which the island’s director, Miquel Vadell, took part, has been put back to 12.50 pm.

Garcías stressed that “this event is linked to the concepts of sustainability and respect for the territory, and he pointed out that today’s trophy allows the values of the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range to be shown to the world through sport”.

The awards ceremony was also attended by the island’s Director of Sports, Marga Portells. This sporting event has been held uninterruptedly since 1991 and is a benchmark in professional cycling, with the participation of the main international teams.
