Easter Week

“Now that the situation of the health crisis of recent years has been normalised, we want to highlight the fact that Inca’s Easter Week is the only procession in Mallorca in which all the floats are carried on the shoulders of the bearers, which, without detracting from the other processions, is a characteristic feature of the Easter Week in Inca,” explains president Noguera. “On behalf of the Town Hall, we can only thank all those people who work selflessly to make Easter Week in Inca a success, as well as an attraction for people to visit us,” said Moreno.

As for the content, the new format of the proclamation concert established last year will continue, which will take place in the church of Sant Domingo, after the procession of the banners that will leave from the church of Santa Maria la Mayor to the church of Sant Domingo.

There the Holy Week will begin with the projection of the III edition of “Conversations for Holy Week” which consists of an interview with the Emm. and Rvdm. Cardinal SR. Luis Francisco Ladaria Ferrer, Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, President of the International Theological Commission, President of the Pontifical Biblical Commission, Cardinal Deacon of St. Ignatius of Loyola in Campo Marzio. This interview will be followed by a chamber music concert by Quartet de vent Mallorca, which will play pieces of sacred music such as “Laudate Dominum” by Josep Vila, “Os Justi” and “Locus iste” by Brukner, “Ubi Caritas” by Ola Gjeilo, “Stabat Mater” by Pergolesi and “Ave Maria” by Schubert.

“We also want to highlight the formative value of the “Conversations for Holy Week”, in which this year we have interviewed Cardinal Lluís Francesc Ladaria Ferrer, who gives a direct response to the meaning of Holy Week and the nature of the Brotherhoods”, explains the president of the association. explains president Noguera.

Among other activities, there will be the procession of the Ramos, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Econtro.

Likewise, the Stations of the Cross will be preached by the “young people from the Beato Ramon Llull School”. Of this procession, it is worth highlighting the silence of the participants throughout the Stations of the Cross.

In addition, to give visibility to Holy Week, a banner will be hung on the façade of the parish church to announce that we are in Holy Week.
