The certificate of victims of Franco’s regime is given to the families of nineteen victims of repression in the Balearic Islands.

This certificate is an official document signed by the highest authorities of the Government that is given to the families of the victims of Franco’s repression with the aim of recognising them as victims of human rights violations.

They are Andreu Salom i Lladó, Antoni Cànaves Bizáñez, Castor Delgado Moya, Caterina Sala i Torres, Climent Serra i Servera, Dolores Abad Ramos, Francisca Serra i Servera, Jaume Bauzá Far, Jaume Nadal Bosch, Jaume Nadal Ensenyat, Joana Aina Simonet Riera, Juan Ferreres Freixas, Margalida Bosch Bestard, Maria Nicolau Sorell, Pablo Ferrer Madariaga, Pere Josep Cànaves Bizáñez, Pere Nicolau Sorell, Sebastià Nicolau Sorell and Simó Fullana Font.

The award ceremony took place in a ceremony of homage and institutional recognition held at the Consolat de Mar.

The certificate of victims of Francoism is an official document signed by the highest authorities of the Government of the Balearic Islands – the president, Francina Armengol, and the vice-president, Juan Pedro Yllanes – which the Directorate General of Democratic Memory gives to the families of all the victims of Francoist repression who request it, with the aim of recognising the victims of Francoism as victims of human rights violations, and to highlight the serious injustices suffered by their relatives.

The first of these certificates was released in January 2021 to the family of the trade union and political activist Juana Baño, whose remains were identified in 2018 in the exhumation of the grave in Calvià (Mallorca). Since then, the Balearic executive has delivered a total of 215 certificates of victims of Francoism.
