The councillor for Economic Promotion and Local Development, Jaume Alzamora, has announced that 36 new artisan cards have been awarded. In addition, Alzamora reported that the last technical committee of Crafts has decided at the last meeting of the current term of office to grant 6 letters of “Master Craftsman” as well as to issue a document of artisan qualification (DQA).

Coinciding with the incorporation of new artisans, Alzamora has made an appeal today to buy products that have the different certifications of the Consell that accredit artisans. In fact, Alzamora encouraged people to look for these labels and warned that they should be wary of some products that are mistakenly advertised as artisan, handmade or made on the island when they are not. For this reason, he insisted that accreditations should be sought in order to make purchases that directly benefit these artisans.

In this sense, Alzamora insisted on paying attention to whether the sellers displayed the badges issued by the Consell. Specifically, there are three types of badges: the artisan’s card, the master artisan’s card and the one dedicated to companies.
