Next Generation Funds

The island institution is managing a total of 70 projects with European funds and has already received 45 million euros.

The Consell de Mallorca has received the grant for the digital transformation and modernisation of the administrations of the local entities from the European Next Generation Funds within the framework of the Plan for Recovery, Transformation and Resilience for an amount of 1,823,472.14€.

The aid, which has been requested by the Consell de Mallorca’s European Funds Office, will enable the development of modernisation and digitalisation projects in municipalities with less than 20,000 inhabitants.

The first strategic line of this call for subsidies aims to improve the public services provided to citizens and businesses, favouring accessibility, mobility of digital public services and the modernisation of processes.

The second strategic line aims to provide local administrations with the technological infrastructures necessary for their modernisation. The objective, in this case, is to ensure availability under any circumstances and adapt the available capacity to the existing needs at all times, contributing to the development of digital connectivity, the data economy and artificial intelligence in administrations.

The Consell de Mallorca was created at the end of 2021, together with the Chamber of Commerce, the Office of European Funds (OFE) with the aim of supporting municipalities of less than 20,000 inhabitants in the calls for Next Generation grants and in the 2021/27 financial framework.

The Consell is managing a total of 70 projects with European funds and has already received 45 million euros. On the other hand, there are 16 projects pending resolution. The European Funds Office has advised all the municipalities of Mallorca and four associations of municipalities. Three out of four applications have been approved or are being processed.
