The Fundació Mallorca Turisme has published the award resolution of the call for grants to create tourism products and to promote tourism in Mallorca through events of interest to tourists.

A total of 28 projects have complied with the conditions of the call and will receive a total of 404,761.50 euros in different amounts depending on compliance with the conditions.

The purpose of the call for proposals is to promote events that create a tourist product, for which they are granted aid for advertising, promotion or dissemination costs. The aim is to raise awareness of the destination of Mallorca through culture, sport, gastronomy, premium products, MICE, active tourism, accessibility and sustainability of the destination.

These events are considered a way to reinforce the presence of Mallorca in the issuing markets, given the impact they will have.

Among the concepts that have been taken into account to grant the subsidies we can highlight, among others, that they are events that work or make Mallorca known as a sustainable destination, that incorporate the local product or KM 0 (in the case of gastronomic events, it has to be 70% of the total used), or that favour the promotion, marketing and diversification of tourism on the island.

Eligible expenses are advertising inserts, expenses for promoting the event ─when it also serves to promote Mallorca─, or expenses for professionals travelling to Mallorca who can contribute to making an impact on the national (not local) and international market, among others.

The amounts that the different initiatives will receive, once the expenses have been justified, vary between 300 euros and 30,000 euros, the maximum amount that can be received according to the rules of the call.
