IES Xarc

The Regional Ministry of Education and Vocational Training has just published the tender for the refurbishment of the façade of the IES Xarc secondary school in Santa Eulària des Riu, in Ibiza, on the public sector contracting platform of the Ministry of Finance and Public Function, for an amount of 192,187.25 € and a completion period of 2 months, to be carried out this summer 2023.

This action will respond to the needs raised by the school’s educational community and will benefit its 489 students and future students.

Emergency measures at IES Xarc secondary school in Ibiza

With a budget of more than 192,000 euros, the project foresees the rehabilitation of the elements of the façade of the secondary school that are currently deteriorated. The execution period is 2 months and the works are to be carried out this summer, coinciding with the school holiday period.

The work consists of the following actions:

-Repair of all the cantilevers for solar protection of reinforced concrete of the centre.

-Repair of the metal canopy located at the main entrance to the centre as it has rust at several points of the elements that make up the structure.

It should be remembered that last April, due to the urgency of these works, a first action was carried out as a precautionary measure to prevent safety problems with an investment of 47,615.38 euros. With the following actions:

• Removal of affected metal elements of access canopies.
• Restoration and reconstruction of the edges of the staircase landing.
• Renovation and reconstruction of step
• Installation of protective netting to prevent landslides.

Once the tender for the project has been published, all interested companies can apply.
