The counsellor of the Sea and Water Cycle

.This was the first official meeting of the councillor with entities with the aim of transferring the firm commitment of the Govern to Formentera

The Minister of the Sea and Water Cycle, Juan Manuel Lafuente, has met with the Association of affected by the delimitation of the coast of Formentera and the Association of Concessionaires of Beaches. Lafuente visited Formentera in his first official meeting as councillor to convey the firm commitment of the Government to the island, for its casuistry in this regard.

In statements after the meetings, Lafuente has pledged to streamline the procedures of Costas to help many families and ensure legal certainty.

In addition, the counsellor of the Sea and Water Cycle has also stressed the importance of adapting the regulations so that there is a balance between conservation and care of the coast and human activity and the economy. “It is essential the collaboration of all parties, both companies and individuals, to achieve the protection of the sea. Therefore, it is necessary the involvement and commitment of all, not only of the administration,” he said.

The counsellor has insisted that the objective is to involve all the agents so that they are active participants in the care and protection of the sea, “seeking a balance between the activity of the residents and the economy”.
