The councillor of Economic Promotion and Local Development, Pilar Amate, has met with representatives of the organizing company of Horeca Baleares, one of the most important professional events of the hotel and catering industry held on the island.

The Councilor for Economic Promotion and Local Development, Pilar Amate, has expressed her intention to “establish a line of collaboration with the HORECA channel to promote the brand Producto Mallorca and, at the same time, to recognize the work done by farmers and small producers of the island”.

This was pointed out by the Councilor for Economic Promotion and Local Development after holding a working meeting with José Luis Córcoles, a representative of the organizing company of Horeca Baleares, the meeting place for professionals in the restaurant, hotel and catering industry of the Islands.

During this first meeting, possible lines of joint action and participation with this department have been discussed in order to establish synergies of public-private collaboration in order to support the fair and enhance it, so that “it serves as a showcase for local products of the island,” said the councillor.

It would be “to bring our extensive catalogue of products to the hotel and catering companies of Mallorca and also outside the Islands, with the aim of encouraging the consumption of our excellent local products, such as fruits, vegetables and meat, derived from our agricultural sector, as well as others made with local raw materials”.

“This type of fair can represent a fabulous opportunity to publicize our products and establish trade relations with our local companies and to value and promote our agri-food products inside and outside the Islands,” said the councillor after the meeting.

Next year, in 2024, the fair HORECA Mallorca will celebrate its seventh edition on February 5, 6 and 7. The third edition of HORECA Ibiza and Formentera will be held on February 26th, 27th and 28th, and the second edition of HORECA Menorca will take place on March 19th, 20th and 21st.
