The Consell de Mallorca will open the monastery of Bellpuig to the public while excavations continue

The Department of Culture and Heritage criticizes the neglect suffered by this monastery for years and denounces that the previous government team has not fulfilled its promises

The vice-president of the Consell de Mallorca and councillor of Culture and Heritage, Antònia Roca, together with the insular director of Heritage, Ramón Martín, visited today the restoration works of Bellpuig. The insular institution is committed to carrying out all the tasks required to open the doors of Bellpuig while excavations continue at the archaeological site. In addition, Roca has announced that the bell given by the town of Bellpuig, from Catalonia, will be placed.

During the visit, the new government team has been able to confirm that the promises made by the previous executive, who assured that a new roof would be placed, have not been fulfilled. Antònia Roca denounces the neglect that has suffered this heritage jewel in recent years and pledges to do work to open the site to the public as soon as possible.

The round of meetings continues

This has been today’s meeting, but the new government team of the Department of Culture and Heritage of the Consell de Mallorca has been holding meetings with different social agents and entities linked to the world of culture, heritage and crafts.
