Defence

The Ministry of Defense has urgently procured, through the Military Center of Defense Pharmacy, and will send to Ukraine immediately, a consignment of 500 tourniquets. The shipment is being coordinated by the Operations Command. These medical instruments will make it possible to treat hemorrhagic injuries of the wounded, whether in combat or as a result of indiscriminate attacks on the civilian population.

The Ministry of Defense is thus responding to an urgent request from the Ukrainian commanders responsible for operating the recently supplied Role 2+ Hospital, in view of the high number of casualties suffered by Ukrainian troops during the month of July and the situation on the front line. The supply is a new demonstration of the Spanish support and agile response to the real needs in the war that Ukraine sustains to respond to the illegal Russian invasion.

In the words of the Ukrainian commanders, the upcoming arrival of the tourniquets, “will save lives”, boosting the field hospital’s capacity to perform emergency surgery. The Role 2+ hospital is already fully operational in Ukraine.
