Tanks or mobile tanks that transport water for human consumption must be used exclusively for this purpose. They must bear, in a clear and highly visible manner, the inscription “Water for human consumption”, together with the pictogram of the white tap on a blue background.

These tanks have a favourable sanitary report, issued by the General Directorate of Public Health, and are registered in the Register of entities managing water supplies for human consumption or any other activity related to these supplies in the Balearic Islands, in order to be able to transport water fit for consumption with total safety for the population.

Only those that are registered in the Registry of Management Entities and carry the inscription and the pictogram transport water fit for human consumption with all the sanitary guarantees. These tankers can only load water in supply areas registered in the Register of Management Entities and, therefore, are subject to the sanitary surveillance of the General Directorate of Public Health, and apply a program of self-control and supply management, in compliance with current health regulations.

Currently, in the Balearic Islands, there are seventy registered companies transporting water for human consumption, distributed as follows:

  • Majorca: 44
  • Minorca: 2
  • Eivissa: 21
  • Formentera: 3

On the website salutambiental.caib.es you can find the list of companies registered in the Register of Management Entities of the Balearic Islands for each of the islands.
